We provide a full year of invaluable, practical experience in a school setting, laying the foundation for a successful career in teaching. This experience will help you determine if teaching is your true calling and prepare you for future teacher training qualifications.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join an
Outstanding Secondary School
as a Graduate Academic Mentor in Physics. This role will provide you with the chance to:

• Gain in-depth classroom experience
• Build strong relationships with students and staff
• Develop key skills essential for your teaching career

• Hold a
  degree in Physics or a related field (2:2 or above)
• Have a strong grasp of
  core Physics concepts
  l
• Be able to explain
  complex scientific principles
  in a way that is accessible and engaging to secondary school students
• Have a passion for
  hands‑on experiments
  and encourage students to participate in
  practical lab work
  to bring theoretical concepts to life
• Be enthusiastic, approachable, and supportive
• Be resilient, driven, and motivated to help students achieve their potential in STEM subjects
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be creative in designing
  engaging lesson plans
  that incorporate technology and
  modern scientific applications
• Show initiative while working collaboratively with others

• Deliver
  exciting Physics lessons
  that make use of experiments, group discussions, and practical problem-solving tasks
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to explain
  complex topics
  such as mechanics, thermodynamics, and electrical circuits
• Support the
  development of a dynamic Physics curriculum
  that integrates both theoretical learning and real‑world applications
• Encourage students to develop a deeper curiosity about
  scientific discovery
  and the natural world
• Promote positive student behaviour, ensuring that lessons are safe, organised, and aligned with school values
• Assist in maintaining and organising the
  school’s lab equipment
  , ensuring all safety standards are met during practical sessions
• Follow all instructions as directed by the department Head and observe Health & Safety Regulations
