Are you a qualified teacher passionate about improving educational outcomes for vulnerable and care-experienced young people?

Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced Virtual School Teacher to join a dedicated Virtual School service in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a resilient, empathetic and highly organised education professional to make a genuine difference to the lives of Looked-After Children (LAC) and care-experienced young people across the borough.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of secondary education and KS4, with experience supporting young people through key academic and transitional stages.

As a Virtual School Teacher, you will work across a range of schools and settings, acting as an educational advocate and coordinator for a designated cohort of care-experienced young people.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring educational progress, attendance and attainment, particularly at KS4 and GCSE level.
• Leading and coordinating high-quality Personal Education Plans (PEPs/ePEPs).
• Working closely with schools, Designated Teachers, social workers, foster carers and other professionals.
• Identifying barriers to learning and coordinating targeted educational interventions.
• Supporting the effective use of Pupil Premium funding to improve educational outcomes.
• Supporting young people through key transitions, particularly from KS4 into Post-16 education, training or employment.
• Providing educational advice, challenge and advocacy to ensure young people receive the support they need to succeed.

The successful Virtual School Teacher will have:

• QTS or QTLS - essential.
• Significant experience working with KS4 students.
• Strong knowledge of GCSE frameworks and secondary education.
• Experience working with Looked-After Children, care-experienced young people or vulnerable learners.
• Experience with in SEN, Alternative Provision or other specialist educational settings.
• Knowledge or experience of Post-16 education, further education or careers guidance is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
