The Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer will support, safeguard, enable and champion the success of all students by providing front line and responsive advice, guidance, and referral to other services within and beyond the Student Services Team. They will respond to the needs of students, including acting as a designated safeguarding lead, providing pastoral care, practical advice, and working as part of a team delivering an exceptional student support experience.

The post holder will be personable, highly compassionate, skilled active listener with an interest in wellbeing and education.

This role's purpose is to ensure all students across the EFI Group, including the most vulnerable, make excellent progress both academically and with their social and emotional development. This post is part of the personal progression team, they will be first aid trained, DSL trained and be prepared for receiving and managing disclosures in line with the EFI Safeguarding Policy.

You will have experience of working in a similar role within a comparable educational environment, including providing pastoral and wellbeing support to learners and working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of pastoral care issues and effective support measures, with up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, wellbeing, equality and diversity, and the needs and issues affecting young people.

You will be able to communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of people, build positive and supportive relationships with learners and colleagues, and listen with understanding. You will have good organisational, planning and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality, manage appropriate boundaries and work flexibly and collaboratively.

You will demonstrate a commitment to supporting the wellbeing, development and progression of learners, with an understanding and compassionate approach to supporting students with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will be committed to safeguarding and contributing to a safe and supportive environment for young people and adults.

Salary:
From £26,550 to £29,500 per annum, subject to qualifications and experience
