ATTENDANCE OFFICER

Start Date:

November 2026 or ASAP

Contract:

Full-time 37 hours per week. Term time only plus 5 training days

Hours:

Monday
- Thursday 8.00am - 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am - 3.30pm

Salary:
Level 3B (Point 6
- 8)

Actual Salary Range: £22,859.00 - £23,594.00 (dependent on experience).

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them succeed in education? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive School Attendance Officer to join our pastoral support team.

About the Role

In this vital role, you will monitor daily attendance, analyse data trends and work directly with students, parents and community agencies to remove barriers to regular school attendance. If you have strong communication skills, experience with school database systems and a commitment to student welfare, we would love to hear from you.

Working in a school requires you to have strong organisational and communication skills. There will be face-to-face interaction with students, members of staff, parents and external agencies.

  • Has experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work or care setting.
  • Is a strong and active listener.
  • Is calm, resilient and has a non-judgmental approach under pressure.
  • Has knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection procedures.
  • Has excellent communication and administrative abilities.
  • Has a passion for working in a school environment.
  • Has excellent inter-personal skills with students, staff, parents/guardians, external agencies and members of the public.
  • Works well in a team.
  • Has the ability to thrive under pressure in a busy environment with a varied workload.
