Resident School Matron (Term Time Only)

Could you be the caring, calm and organised adult who helps our boys feel at home?

You will build positive relationships with the boys, support their day-to-day care, work closely with our School Nurse and boarding staff, and play an important part in ensuring every pupil thrives both personally and academically.

We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience working with children or young people.
  • Is caring, approachable and enjoys building positive relationships.
  • Has strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Can promote high standards of wellbeing, behaviour and personal presentation.
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
  • Is willing to contribute to the wider life of a busy boarding school.
  • Previous boarding experience, safeguarding training and a First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
What we offer:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Term-time only position, plus three days at the start and end of each term.
  • Residential accommodation provided.
  • Meals during term time.
  • Three hours free time each day and one full day off per week.
  • A welcoming, supportive and vibrant school community.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people while becoming part of a close-knit boarding family.

Ludgrove is committed to building a truly inclusive school and cultivating a culture of equality, diversity and kindness. We believe that a diverse staff body reflects and supports the diversity of our students and wider society. We are an equal opportunity employer and in recruiting for our team, we welcome the unique contributions that you can bring.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory pre employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check.
