Tayyibah Girls School is an Islamic faith-based girls school committed to providing a high-quality education within a nurturing and supportive environment. We aim to develop confident, capable and well-rounded pupils who achieve academically while developing strong character, values and a love of learning.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and inspirational English Teacher to join our KS2 team on a full-time basis, with an immediate start.
The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stage 2, ensuring that pupils develop strong foundations in reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, spelling and oracy. You will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners, assess pupil progress effectively and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons across KS2.
- Develop pupils’ reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
- Teach grammar, punctuation, spelling, vocabulary and comprehension effectively.
- Promote a love of reading and encourage pupils to read widely.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to engage and challenge pupils.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils of different abilities.
- Assess and monitor pupils’ progress and use assessment information to inform planning.
- Provide appropriate support and challenge to ensure pupils make good progress.
- Establish high expectations for behaviour, effort, presentation and achievement.
- Create a positive, safe and purposeful learning environment.
- Maintain accurate records of assessment and pupil progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community.
- Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
- Participate in meetings, training, duties and wider school activities.
- Support the school’s Islamic ethos, values and approach to character development.
- Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the role.
- An enthusiastic and passionate teacher of English.
- Committed to achieving high standards for all pupils.
- Able to create engaging, purposeful and well-structured lessons.
- Confident in teaching reading and writing across KS2.
- Able to differentiate effectively and support a range of learners.

- Supportive of the Islamic ethos and values of Tayyibah Girls' School.
- Strong subject knowledge in English.
- Understanding of effective teaching, assessment and classroom management.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate teaching qualification.
- Experience of teaching English within a primary setting.
- Experience of working within an Islamic faith-based school.
