Teaching Assistant

Salary:
United Learning Support Staff Pay Scale
FTE Salary: £31,361 per annum
Actual Salary: £27,060 per annum
Working Pattern:
Term Time Only (39 weeks), 30-37.5 hours per week (flexible)
Reporting to: SENCO

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and ambitious school community. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers and the SEND team to provide learning, pastoral and emotional support. You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, independence and resilience, both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with individual learning targets and intervention programmes.

  • Provide pastoral support and help students overcome barriers to learning.

  • Work alongside teachers to support teaching, learning and student progress.

  • Assist with monitoring and assessing student progress.

  • Contribute to nurture provision and support students with SEND.

  • Assist with examination access arrangements where required.

  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion throughout the school.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Is calm, patient and able to build positive relationships with young people.

  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Has a genuine commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and supporting pupil success.

  • Is flexible, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
