Salary: Competitive, dependent upon experience.

Hours:

Job Overview:

A busy private family is seeking a qualified and experienced Private Tutor to provide personalised educational support for three children aged 11, 10 and 6.

The position will commence in London in December 2026, where the family will remain until February 2027, before returning to their home in Athens. The family also anticipates returning to London for the Easter period in 2027.

Whilst in London, the tutor will be responsible for home-schooling the three children, following their school's British curriculum and ensuring they remain up to date with their academic programme. Support will be available from the family's education adviser where required.

In Athens, the role will focus on after-school academic support, consolidation and enrichment alongside the children's regular schooling.

The children are happy, curious and enthusiastic learners who respond particularly well to creative, stimulating and personalised teaching methods.

Teaching will take place in the family home, within a fully staffed household. The tutor will work collaboratively with the family, education adviser and rota nannies, who care for the children and their two younger siblings, aged 2 and a baby due in January 2027.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivering structured home-schooling in London, following the children's British school curriculum.
  • Ensuring all three children remain up to date with their respective academic programmes.
  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative and age-appropriate lessons tailored to each child's individual abilities, interests and learning needs.
  • Providing after-school academic support, consolidation and enrichment whilst in Athens.
  • Encouraging curiosity, independent thinking and a positive approach to learning.
  • Monitoring academic progress and identifying areas requiring additional support.
  • Liaising with the family's education adviser where required.
  • Working collaboratively with the parents and wider household team to ensure continuity in the children's education.
  • Adapting the teaching programme to accommodate the family's time in London and Athens.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Qualified and experienced tutor or teacher with experience educating children of similar ages.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the British curriculum.
  • Proven ability to deliver structured, individualised teaching across different age groups and academic levels.
  • Creative and engaging teaching style, with the ability to make learning stimulating and enjoyable.
  • Confident in planning lessons, assessing progress and adapting teaching methods to individual learning needs.
  • Organised, adaptable and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with parents, educational advisers and household staff.
  • Comfortable working in a fully staffed private household.
  • Comfortable around dogs, as the family has a dog at their home in Athens.
  • Preferably London-based, although accommodation can be provided if required.
Perks of the Role:
  • Accommodation available in both London and Athens if required.
  • Opportunity to provide a highly personalised educational programme for three enthusiastic learners.
  • Support from the family's education adviser where required.
  • Opportunity to work between London and Athens.
