Lecturer & Course Leader Craft, Art and Design
T Level Foundation delivering UAL Level 1 & 2 Art and Design
Do you love craft, art and design, and believe every young person deserves the time and space to find their creative voice?
We're looking for a warm, inventive, and committed lecturer to lead our UAL Level 1 and Level 2 Art and Design course at Morley Chelsea. This is a rare opportunity to take real ownership of a course, shape how it's delivered, and make a lasting difference to a group of young people.
About the course
Across the year, students work through practical, project-based learning across a wide range of craft and design disciplines, including:
- Ceramics
- Textiles and fashion
- Drawing
- Woodwork and 3D design
- Graphics
- Digital skills
Alongside their UAL qualification, students also study English and maths, building the skills and confidence they need for their next steps.
We're proud of where our learners go. Students from this course have progressed to further study and on to great things, including university.
About the role
As Course Leader, you'll have a great deal of autonomy in how the course is designed and delivered. You'll plan and teach engaging, hands-on projects, track and celebrate progress, and work closely with LSAs to make sure every learner is supported to succeed.
You won't be doing it alone. You'll be backed by a fantastic curriculum team and work alongside other lecturers delivering the same specification, so there's plenty of opportunity to share ideas, resources and good practice.
About you
We'd love to hear from you if you:
- Have a genuine passion for art and design, and practical skills across craft and design disciplines
- Enjoy working with young people with SEND and understand how to adapt teaching so everyone can take part and thrive
- Are patient, encouraging and creative in your approach, and see potential in every learner
- Can work collaboratively with LSAs, colleagues and support services
- Are organised and confident taking the lead on a course
- Have experience of teaching in FE or a similar setting, ideally with UAL experience.
