Role Overview

A community-focused primary school in Hackney is seeking a motivated experienced and inspirational Year 6 Teacher to join their Upper Key Stage 2 team this vital role you will lead a bright Year 6 class through their final year of primary education providing the academic challenge and emotional support needed for pupils to thrive. You will focus on driving progress in core subjects preparing students for Key Stage 2 SATs assessments and ensuring a smooth confident transition to secondary school.

Applications are welcomed from experienced primary teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with strong Key Stage 2 experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging rigorous lessons in alignment with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy.

• Implement targeted intervention strategies and continuous assessment to prepare pupils thoroughly for statutory Year 6 SATs.

• Create a positive structured classroom culture that encourages resilience self-motivation and active participation.

• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants subject leaders and the SENCo to ensure adaptive provision for pupils with SEND as well as high-attaining pupils.

• Maintain strong supportive partnerships with parents and carers to track student progress and holistic wellbeing.

Key Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Primary Education Education Studies or a relevant academic subject.

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

• Proven teaching experience or strong practical knowledge within Upper Key Stage 2 specifically Year 6 SATs preparation.

• Excellent classroom management adaptive teaching skills and high expectations for pupil achievement.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
