Investment Associate

Job Purpose

The Investment Associate will lead engagement with stakeholders to assess, analyse, structure and invest in renewable energy projects that provide long‑term, low‑cost power to OpCos, affiliates and third parties. The goal is to secure 500 GWh of projects/CPPAs across the UK and Western Europe. The Senior Investment Manager will take a lead role in investment valuation, bid negotiation and delivery, and contribute to strategy and operational capability development.

• Support energy project origination, development, commercial structuring and delivery through market knowledge, expertise and network.
• Accurately model business investment decisions, evaluating and due‑diligencing renewable assets using market data and internal models.
• Maintain and develop financial models and other analytical tools.
• Lead bids and subsequent negotiations for procurement of new wind, solar and onsite renewable assets.
• Lead commercial structuring of projects to deliver expected returns and risk/reward profiles.
• Prepare investment materials for internal approvals and stakeholder discussions.
• Coordinate internal functions including Legal, Tax and Treasury.
• Understand regulatory, market and operational risks for energy project investments.
• Identify issues and drive continuous improvement based on multiple project bid cycles.

• Investment modelling of commercial debt/equity funded transactions in renewable energy across the UK and Europe.
• Deal transaction experience in energy or related markets.
• Commercial negotiation for investments and Power Purchase Agreements.
• Engagement with evolving energy markets across Europe.
• Project management and team development skills with an eye for scaling team capacity.
• Strong Excel modelling, PowerPoint development and presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience in corporate strategy, M&A or similar roles.
• Commercial contract negotiation experience.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Economics or a related field.
• Energy market and renewable energy experience in the UK and Europe.
• Experience in private equity or other investment environments in the energy sector is an advantage.
• Modelling, analysis and investment experience of renewable energy projects is essential.

• Fluent in English; fluency in another European language preferred.
