LV/HV M&E Maintenance Technician – Energy Centres

  • London
  • On-Site - 4 days/night on 4 days/nights off - (12hrs)

An established energy services business is seeking a hands-on technician to help operate and maintain critical electrical and mechanical plant across two London energy centres. Our client develops and manages onsite energy infrastructure for major organisations across the UK. Its projects bring together heat and power generation, high-voltage distribution and industrial plant to improve resilience, reduce energy costs and support lower‑carbon operations.

You will join the site team supporting a long‑term energy services arrangement. The position combines planned and reactive maintenance, plant operation, electrical safety control and accurate compliance documentation.

Key responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain high-temperature hot-water boiler systems.
  • Support 11kV generation plant and associated equipment.
  • Maintain pumps, valves, water systems and auxiliary plant.
  • Manage low and high voltage distribution activities safely.
  • Use plant monitoring, maintenance and CAFM systems.
  • Complete planned maintenance and reactive tasks promptly.
  • Work in accordance with site Permit to Work procedures.
  • Prepare and apply risk assessments and method statements.
  • Issue permits and maintain accurate safety records.
  • Understand service obligations and operational performance requirements.
  • Assist with fault diagnosis and practical remedial work.
Experience and qualifications
  • City & Guilds electrical theory and installation qualification, or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2391 inspection and testing, or equivalent.
  • Practical electrical fault‑finding and maintenance capability.
  • Experience working with electrical generation equipment is essential.
  • Experience of LV and HV systems is essential.
  • Knowledge of large boiler plant and associated systems.
  • Experience overhauling pumps or valves would be advantageous.
  • Confined‑space certification, or willingness to complete training.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
  • Willingness to undertake LV/HV Authorised Person training and accreditation.
