Development Manager

London, UK (Hybrid)

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum

Our client is a renewable energy developer with a growing pipeline of solar and battery storage projects across the UK, and they are looking for a Development Manager to progress projects through the core stages of the development lifecycle. The role exists to add capacity to a busy development team, working alongside senior colleagues to move sites from early opportunity towards consent.

You would take real ownership of your own projects while building the experience to run larger schemes over time.

The Company

Our client is a solar and battery storage developer moving towards an IPP model, so the projects you work on are ones the business intends to own and operate for the long term. They foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, with a genuine focus on development and mentoring, which makes this a strong role for someone ready to step up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Progress solar and battery storage projects through planning, land, grid and consenting.
  • Coordinate planning, environmental and technical consultants to keep projects on programme.
  • Support land and grid connection negotiations, and help manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Engage with landowners, communities and local authorities to build support for projects.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience developing renewable energy or infrastructure projects in the UK, or a strong planning or land background looking to move into development.
  • Working knowledge of the UK planning and consenting process.
  • Commercial awareness of land, grid and project risk.
  • Well organised, with the ability to manage several work streams at once.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable with a range of external stakeholders.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary with performance-related bonus.
  • Hybrid working (3 days in) with flexibility around the London office.
  • Structured support, mentoring and clear progression as you develop.
  • Pension and enhanced holiday allowance.
  • The chance to grow with a developer transitioning to an IPP.
