CHP Engineer

CHP Engineer Competitive salary  Overtime  Company Vehicle  Benefits We are currently working with a leading business within the energy and power generation sector, who are looking to add an experienced CHP Engineer to their growing UK team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with experience working on CHP, gas engines, generators or similar power generation equipment to join an established organisation and work on a variety of technically challenging projects across the UK.

As a CHP Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault-finding and commissioning of CHP systems at customer sites across the UK. The role will involve:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on CHP units. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults. Attending reactive breakdowns and emergency call-outs. Carrying out servicing, component replacement and major maintenance. Commissioning and recommissioning CHP units. Fault-finding across engines, generators, control systems and associated equipment. Using diagnostic equipment and electrical/mechanical drawings to identify faults. Completing service reports and technical documentation. Working directly with customers to ensure equipment is operating reliably and efficiently.

Supporting major engine overhauls and refurbishment projects. Working closely with the wider technical team to resolve complex issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background, ideally with experience working on CHP systems, gas engines, generators or industrial power generation equipment. You will ideally have:
Previous experience as a CHP Engineer, Generator Engineer, Engine Technician or similar. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Experience working with gas engines, generators or industrial engines. The ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings. Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills. A customer-focused approach. The ability to work independently and manage your own workload. A full UK driving licence.
