Intermediate / Senior Cladding Designer

Location:

North Greenwich (Hybrid: office, remote, site visits)
Salary: £39,000 – £50,000 (Intermediate) | £55,000 – £60,000 (Senior)

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate or Senior Cladding Designer to join an established design team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of UK-based façade projects, combining technical design, site engagement, and collaboration with architects, engineers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

* Produce detailed cladding construction drawings, including elevations, plans, fire barriers, and panel layouts

* Prepare sub-grid and panel setting-out drawings

* Conduct site surveys, inspections, and photographic documentation

* Liaise with suppliers for specifications, U-values, and condensation calculations

* Coordinate with structural engineers, consultants, and site teams

* Maintain project documentation, drawing registers, RFIs, and change logs

* Issue technical submissions and updated drawings to clients

* Attend design and progress meetings

* Participate in internal weekly design meetings and CPD sessions

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or equivalent experience

* Intermediate: 3–4 years UK cladding design experience

* Senior: 5+ years UK cladding design experience

* Proven experience specifically in cladding design (curtain walling-only experience not sufficient)

Skills & Competencies

* Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, PDF software, MS Office/Outlook; 3D AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Revit, and Bluebeam advantageous

* Strong written and verbal English communication skills

* Ability to work semi-autonomously from verbal, written, or sketched instructions

* Knowledge of cladding systems, panels, insulation, fixings, fire barriers, membranes, U-values, and condensation risk analysis

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (2 for Intermediate, 3+ for Senior)

* Detail-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused

* UK-based, within commutable distance to North Greenwich / M25

* Driving license preferred

* Office attendance:
