This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing environmental and water consultancy in London at a pivotal stage of their expansion.
We’re partnering with a well-established consultancy seeking an Associate – Flood Risk & Drainage to play a key role within their Flood and Climate Risk team, helping to lead project delivery, support team growth, and shape service development.
The Role

* Providing technical oversight on conceptual and outline drainage designs, including SuDS and sustainable drainage solutions
* Managing and advising on flood risk appraisals for investors, lenders, and institutional clients, offering clear and commercially focused guidance
* Acting as a key point of contact for clients, local authorities, and statutory consultees
* Supporting, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior and mid-level team members
* Contributing to business development, work-winning, and the growth of emerging service areas such as ESG, climate resilience, and nutrient neutrality
About You

* 6+ years’ experience in flood risk and drainage consultancy
* Strong knowledge of UK planning policy, regulatory frameworks, and approval processes
* Proven experience managing projects, clients, and junior staff
* Commercial awareness and confidence contributing to fee proposals and project delivery
* A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing priorities
Technical Experience (Desirable)
* Flood risk and drainage reporting for planning and due diligence
* Micro Drainage / Info Drainage (or equivalent)
* QGIS or other GIS platforms
* AutoCAD and detailed drainage design experience
* Chartered status (or working towards) with a relevant professional body
What’s On Offer
* £60,000 – £70,000 salary, dependent on experience
* Full-time, permanent position
* Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
* Clear progression beyond Associate level
* Structured support and leadership opportunities
* Collaborative, supportive team culture
* Exposure to high-profile and technically challenging projects across the UK
If you’re ready to move into an Associate role where your expertise will influence projects, people, and strategy, this is an outstanding opportunity to consider
