Position: Shift Engineer (Permanent)
Shift Maintenance Engineer

Location:

Canary Wharf
Shift Pattern:
Continental Shifts (07:00-19::00-07:00)
We are looking for an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer to carry out PPM, reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs across critical building systems. You must be Level 3 qualified in either Electrical or Mechanical engineering and have strong experience working within building services.
Purpose of the role:
Ensure all environmental and building conditions are maintained to required standards. You will work across key M&E plant including HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, UPS, generators, LV systems and other critical equipment. Strong fault-finding skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out PPM on all M&E plant in line with site schedules.

* Respond to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns.

* Diagnose and fix faults quickly to maintain plant availability.

* Supervise and monitor subcontractors working on site.

* Operate within Permit to Work and LOTO procedures.

* Complete all job sheets and update Maximo/CAFM systems.

* Support with minor fabric and general building tasks when required.

* Ensure spare parts are available and provide parts lists for repairs.

* Prepare and work from Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

* Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors and colleagues.

* Keep plant rooms secure, clean and tidy.

* Report near-misses, hazards and contribute to continuous improvement.

* Ensure compliance with site KPIs and SLAs.

* Maintain safe working practices, PPE standards and site rules.
Skills,

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

* Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (NVQ / C&G / equivalent).

* Strong background in building services or commercial maintenance.

* Experience with HVAC systems, pumps, motors, UPS, generators, FCUs, AHUs or similar plant.

* Solid fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently on a rotating shift pattern.

* Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
Desirable:

* Experience using CAFM systems such as Maximo or Concept.

* Experience in critical, corporate or multi-tenanted environments.

* HV/LV awareness (training can be provided).
