I'm working with a highly respected, multi-disciplinary building consultancy looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to strengthen their growing Building Services team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys owning projects, mentoring others, and delivering technically robust, sustainable mechanical designs across genuinely varied and meaningful developments.
The work spans complex healthcare schemes, major mixed-use and residential-led regeneration projects, commercial refurbishments, and large urban developments tied to transport hubs and community infrastructure. If you like projects that challenge you technically and make a visible difference to the built environment, this will tick a lot of boxes.

What you'll be doing

* Leading mechanical design from concept through to detailed technical stages and construction information.

* Designing HVAC, ventilation, public health, hydronic and associated mechanical systems for complex buildings.

* Acting as a key mechanical lead within multi-disciplinary design teams alongside architects, structural engineers and sustainability specialists.

* Taking responsibility for project delivery, programme management and technical quality.

* Attending client and design team meetings, representing the mechanical discipline with confidence.

* Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the overall development of the team.

* Using Revit/AutoCAD and mechanical calculation software to deliver coordinated, efficient designs.

About you

* Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).

* Strong background in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.

* Confident leading projects and liaising directly with clients and design teams.

* Experienced in industry software and UK building regulations/standards.

* Keen to mentor others and step into a senior leadership role within a design team.
