Our Building Services division provides complete Facilities Management across the UK — from mechanical and electrical engineering support to cleaning, catering and grounds maintenance — delivered both reactively and on a planned basis. We use innovative technology to manage our teams efficiently, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and compliance.
We are now looking for an Engineering Supervisor to join our Commercial Property Maintenance team on one of our projects in London.
Purpose of the roleTo ensure operational delivery performance meets contract obligations and Building Services processes, achieving high customer satisfaction while keeping all sites compliant with statutory, regulatory and safety requirements.
What you'll do:- Team Leadership & Client Management – Supervise engineers to maintain high performance standards; manage client relationships daily; ensure KPIs/SLAs are met; represent Building Services at client meetings.
- Compliance & Safety – Ensure statutory, regulatory, health & safety and environmental requirements are met; act as Competent Person (LV); lead toolbox talks and encourage positive safety interventions.
- Maintenance & Technical Delivery – Coordinate planned/reactive M&E maintenance; diagnose faults; oversee electrical/mechanical works; manage subcontractors with quality control checks; ensure CAFM records are accurate and up to date.
- Resource & Project Management – Ensure adequate labour/material resources; manage capital works from quotation to sign‑off; deliver projects on time and within budget; identify additional business opportunities to increase revenue.
- People Development & Engagement – Support recruitment, succession planning and PDRs; provide training, guidance and technical advice; encourage team engagement in line with Skanska’s “You Voice Our Strength” (YVOS) programme.
- NVQ level or higher in an engineering discipline
- Electrical experience (17th/18th Edition) – LV/AP advantage
- Mechanical experience – advantage
- Strong knowledge of H&S legislation (including COSHH)
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Proven ability to manage workloads and deliver projects on time/budget
- Knowledge of Concept CAFM systems preferred
