Mechanical Design Engineer
Are you ready to take on exciting engineering challenges that make a real impact? Join our team and help shape the future of our business. We are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on innovation, precision, and collaboration. The role suits an engineer with a good understanding of machinery design, or exposure to designing for remote operations/handling, ideally gained in the nuclear industry, but those with similar experience will be considered.
Robot/manipulator tooling design and development will be a key aspect of this role, as will the associated prototyping and testing of these tools. This is a unique role requiring a versatile engineer with the desire to help build a world-class engineering capability within a respected supplier to the nuclear decommissioning sector.
Wälischmiller is a leading UK-based engineering organisation specialising in the design, manufacture, installation, and servicing of telemanipulators and remote-handling systems for the nuclear sector. We are known for exceptional reliability, precision engineering, and over 30 years of specialist expertise. We support critical activities in hot cells, research environments, post-irradiation examination labs, and fuel reprocessing facilities. We offer a highly technical, safety-focused environment where engineering innovation and quality standards are central to our success.
During the next 3 years, we plan to offer world-leading products including Remote Handling tooling, state-of-the-art manipulators, and upgrades to existing products.
