We are looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer (Contractor) to support the delivery of electrical building services projects across a wide variety of sectors and typologies, including high‑rise, theatres, schools, museums, retrofit and listed buildings, as well as commercial, residential, mixed‑use and infrastructure projects, including airport projects. The role will involve technical design and coordination at various RIBA stages, contributing to the successful delivery of complex, design‑led schemes.

This contract role is suited to a highly capable electrical engineer who can quickly integrate into active project teams and provide strong technical delivery support within defined project programmes.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards and be confident delivering coordinated electrical designs across all project stages.

• Support the development and delivery of electrical building services designs across all RIBA stages
• Undertake full electrical system design including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and small power systems
• Carry out electrical calculations using industry software (Amtech/Trimble, Dialux)
• Prepare reports, specifications and coordinated design information
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671, CIBSE guidance, IET standards and statutory requirements
• Adapt electrical design solutions to suit complex or specialist building typologies, including heritage, high‑rise, cultural and educational projects
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects and external consultants
• Attend design meetings and site visits as required
• Contribute to sustainable and energy‑efficient electrical design solutions
• Work within agreed programme and reporting structures

• 6–8+ years’ experience in electrical building services design
• Engineering Level 7 qualification (MEng or equivalent)
• Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent experience) preferred
• Strong knowledge of UK regulations (BS 7671, CIBSE, IET guidance)
• Experience across commercial, residential, mixed‑use or infrastructure projects
• Experience working on specialist building types such as high‑rise, theatres, schools, museums, and retrofit or listed projects is highly desirable
• Proficient in Amtech (Trimble), Dialux and AutoCAD (BIM/Revit experience beneficial)
• Able to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary environment
