Job DescriptionAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be part of a regional team of engineers reporting directly to the area technical manager. Your focus is ensuring first‑class service, quality and regulatory compliance for Flow Cytometry and sample preparation instrumentation.
Location:
London
- Provide field‑based and remote technical support to customers and colleagues in line with relevant training and experience.
- Carry out preventative maintenance, installation, relocation, repairs and corrective field change orders on Flow Cytometry instrumentation.
- Diagnose electrical, fluidic, mechanical, hardware, software and laser failures using established procedures and techniques.
- Determine the most cost‑effective repair/solution to ensure minimum downtime.
- Perform instrument certifications (IQ/OQ).
- Actively manage car stock, ensuring all necessary spare parts and tools are available.
- Effectively manage technical escalations.
- Work toward service metrics as defined by the Service Organization.
- HND or degree in electrical engineering or extensive relevant experience as a field service engineer.
- Proactive approach with ability to take the lead if required.
- IT knowledge.
- Flow Cytometry experience is a plus.
- Experience working in telecoms, robotics, automation and medical devices industries.
- Ability to process knowledge across multi‑modular and diverse product ranges.
- Deliver high levels of customer service.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Currently living within a daily commutable distance of Central London.
- Full‑time position, with evening work required as job duties demand.
- Traveling to and from a customer site each day.
- Able to lift 12‑15 kg and work in a standing position for a prolonged period.
£45,000 - £55,000 + bonus and benefits.
