We are currently partnering with a cutting‑edge deep‑tech company that has recently received funding and develops next-generation data storage solutions. This funding has enabled rapid scaling of the team this year, with numerous hires planned across the business. The company is building an innovative platform focused on energy‑efficient, highly resilient storage technology to meet the growing demands of modern data infrastructure.
In this context, they are expanding their Engineering teams, starting with this Embedded Engineer role.
This role offers an experienced Embedded Engineer the opportunity to work in a highly multidisciplinary R&D environment where electronics, software, and applied science intersect. In this role, you will design and integrate precision electromechanical systems at the core of the technology, work hands‑on in the lab, and collaborate closely with scientists and engineers to prototype and refine complex systems. The position is ideally suited for someone who enjoys solving unconventional engineering challenges in a fast‑paced, experimental setting.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop precision electronic and electromechanical systems for accurate and repeatable control.
- Own the integration of rigs and prototypes as system complexity increases.
- Diagnose and debug electromechanical and control system challenges.
- Develop innovative solutions to solve complex technical problems.
- Work hands‑on in the lab – designing, building, testing and refining systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across engineering and science.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electronics, embedded systems or mechatronics within an R&D or multidisciplinary environment.
- Master’s degree in a relevant subject.
- Strong commercial experience with C/C++ programming.
- Hands‑on experience with microcontrollers such as ESP
32, STM
32, Teensy, or Raspberry Pi. - Confident understanding of precision motor control and encoder interfacing.
- Working knowledge of Linux systems.
- Experience using electronics design tools such as KiCAD, Altium, or EasyEDA.
- Strong debugging experience across hardware and embedded software, including digital signal processing.
- Understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI and UART.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
- Experience with FPGA design and integration.
- Familiarity with high‑speed interfaces such as PCIe or SAS.
- Experience with Python or other high‑level programming languages.
- Exposure to optics, photonics or precision instrumentation.
