Overview
Leggwork is supporting a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure improvements across Heathrow Airport. With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and delivery on major UK projects, they are seeking a Permit Coordinator to support a live Bus Depot Regeneration and Section 278 Highways scheme, with further secured works anticipated at Heathrow beyond the initial programme. The business has delivered major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the UK and continues to invest heavily in both safety and employee development.
This role combines permit management with site supervision, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with permit requirements, specifications, and strict Heathrow safety standards. It would suit someone with utility mapping experience looking to step into a leadership-focused position while remaining close to project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate permits for live highways and infrastructure works
- Review permit conditions and ensure works comply with approved specifications
- Supervise site teams and subcontractors throughout delivery
- Act as the key link between permit requirements and on-site operations
- Support delivery across bus lane regeneration and Section 278 highway works
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme
- Promote a safety-first culture, stopping works where risks or uncertainties arise
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and operational teams
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records and permit documentation

- Utility Ducting & Drainage Works

- QCF Level 3 Utility Mapping (essential)
- Previous supervisory, ganger, foreman, or trade leadership experience
- Strong understanding of permit-controlled infrastructure works
- Experience with in highways, utilities, or civil engineering environments
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong commitment to health and safety best practice
- Full UK driving licence

- Comfortable working within highly regulated environments such as airports
- £55,000 - £60,000 salary
- Weekly pay available (£23 - £25 per hour equivalent)
- Overtime at 1.3x after 50 hours (weekdays)
- Overtime at 1.5x after 50 hours (weekends)
- Company vehicle available where required
