Principal Consultant - ICT and Security Engineering, (Buildings and Infrastructure)
We are seeking a Principal Consultant to lead business development and project delivery within our ICT and Security Engineering team, reporting directly to the Director of ICT and Security. The role focuses on buildings and infrastructure, including Defence, Transportation and Critical National Infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with clients in Buildings, Infrastructure, and Defence sectors.
- Develop and present proposals, including technical and commercial elements.
- Lead design and delivery of secure ICT systems, advising on security throughout the design process.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams and suppliers to deliver integrated security solutions.
- Mentor and coach junior project team members, maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Oversee project execution from Feasibility to Project Handover for Construction and support the overall buildings and infrastructure design process.
- Maintain commercial awareness and balance innovation with cost effectiveness.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Substantial experience in ICT for buildings, with a strong understanding of integrating systems into building design.
- Experience in both business development and project delivery.
- Knowledge of UK, US and international security and ICT system design standards, especially in Defence and CNI sectors.
- Experience designing and specifying systems such as Data Communications, Network (wired and wireless), Structured cabling, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intruder Detection and related physical security installations.
- Experience writing technical reports, specifications and interpreting project briefs.
- Familiarity with leading security and communications suppliers.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary design teams.
- UK National with valid current UKSV accredited security clearance, or recent holder willing to reapply.
- MCIBSE, IET accreditation or similar, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Technical training and registered membership as a Security Professional.
- Education to Degree Standard in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

Location and Working Pattern
- Hybrid working pattern in London, Manchester, Birmingham and Bristol.
