Junior Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services

My client in London is expanding their design team and is looking for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer who is ambitious, enthusiastic, and eager to accelerate their technical development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to gain hands‑on experience, work alongside senior engineers, and quickly build strong design capability within a supportive environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to have the ability to work in 2D CAD and have a desire to move into a Revit environment, you will need to demonstrate some experience in a number of project types and systems and be familiar with industry standards.
It is expected that you will possess a level of technical knowledge, building services design and industry standards and be capable of incorporating these technologies into any project.
The engineer should demonstrate their activities in developing their professional status.
Role & Responsibility
 
* Establishing and developing the design of Engineering solutions and systems
 
* Preparing plans, specifications and schedules for the works
 
* Producing reports in support of the design concepts with regard to compliance with standards and best practice
 
* Liaising with others in the design team
 
* Inspecting installations and reviewing progress quality and performance tests
 
* Supporting the design team and client with regard to Operation and ongoing maintenance

Preferred Qualifications
 
* HNC/ONC/BTEC level in Building Services Engineering or equivalent
Desirable Skills
 
* Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types
 
* Knowledge of MS Office applications
 
* An understanding of British Standards
 
* Ability to work to tight deadlines
 
* CAD/Revit knowledge
 
* Ability to prioritise own workload
Experience
 
* Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a UK consultancy.
