An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a highly respected independent planning consultancy based in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional looking to work on a diverse range of projects across London and the South East, whilst developing their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy environment.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad portfolio of work, including residential, mixed-use, commercial, strategic land and regeneration projects, working closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
The RoleAs a Planner or Senior Planner, you will be involved in all stages of the planning process, helping to deliver successful outcomes for clients across a variety of development sectors.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals
- Undertaking site appraisals and development feasibility assessments
- Providing planning advice to clients and project teams
- Preparing planning statements, representations and supporting documents
- Liaising with local authorities, consultees and stakeholders
- Supporting project management and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Attending client meetings, committee meetings and public consultations where required
- Assisting with business development and networking activities
For Senior Planner level candidates, there will be opportunities to take greater ownership of projects, mentor junior colleagues and contribute to client relationship management.

You will ideally have:
- A relevant Town Planning qualification
- MRTPI Chartered status or be working towards Chartership
- Experience with in a planning consultancy, local authority or developer environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and policy framework
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
- The confidence to engage directly with clients and stakeholders
- A proactive and commercially aware approach
