Technical Manager

Location: London - 2 Days office / 3 day home

Salary: Up to £80,000 + Car Allowance + Pension

The Role

An excellent opportunity for an experienced structural steel professional to join a leading industry association at the heart of the UK steel construction sector.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will help shape technical guidance for the industry, provide support on steel design and fabrication matters, contribute to the development of industry standards, and manage technical working groups.

Responsibilities
  • Support the organisation's technical strategy and initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance on structural steel design and fabrication.
  • Assist in the development and review of UK and international standards.
  • Manage technical committees and working groups.
  • Produce technical reports, guidance documents, and best-practice publications.
  • Engage with industry stakeholders and member companies.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Engineer status preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel design, fabrication, and construction.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
  • Experience with engineering standards development.
  • Understanding of structural fire engineering.
  • Previous involvement in technical committees or industry groups.
Package
  • Salary up to £80,000 DOE.
