DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and experienced electrical engineer to join our dynamic team in London. The electrical engineer will support the wider Building Consultancy (BC) and Sustainability teams with specialist electrical input and technical design capabilities.

Role Summary / Purpose and Scope: MAPP Building Consultancy is a leading firm of chartered surveyors, known for our innovative solutions and commitment to excellence. We are seeking a skilled and experienced electrical engineer to join our dynamic team in London. The electrical engineer will provide specialist electrical input and technical design capabilities.

- Leads the design and co‑coordination of electrical services, systems and installation on engineering projects.
- Undertake electrical engineering designs and calculations using appropriate technical software (Amtech and DIALux).
- Co‑ordinate and collaborate with building surveyors, architects, engineers, and sustainability team members to integrate decarbonisation opportunities and energy‑efficient systems design.
- Prepare technical reports and specifications in accordance with clients’ briefs.
- Undertake and co‑coordinate the production of technical drawings.
- Attend and participate in client and (internal and external) project meetings.
- Validate and review calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others.
- Undertake site visits on engineering projects.
- Responsible for managing engineering projects.
- Liaison with external third parties (clients, contractors, architects) regarding information and technical queries.
- Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the MAPP project delivery process from a project management, financial management, QA/QC and technical review perspective.
- Fulfil the compliance and policy requirements in accordance with MAPP policies and procedures and the relevant legislative framework.
- Monitor statutory and internal compliance, including meeting MAPP policies and procedures, RICS and ISO standards and any statutory timelines and escalation requirements.

Level of Experience /
Certifications:
- Experience in electrical building services within the commercial real estate sector.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering/Building Services Engineering or an alternative similar field (ideally to Master’s level).
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), or an alternative equivalent body.
- Proactively manage own continuing professional development.
- Proficiency in simulation software such as Amtech and DIALux.
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD for the production of two‑dimensional design drawings.
- Strong understanding of the British Standards, Approved Documents, IET Wiring Regulations and CIBSE Codes/Guidance. Understanding of ASHRAE standards is desirable.
- A working knowledge of software packages including Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam.
- A strong knowledge of UK building regulations and standards.
Working Hours:
9am – 5.30pm, Monday – Friday
Salary Range (Based on Experience): £55,000 – £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
