Position Overview

Applications are invited for a Project Officer to support the Heat Pipe Research Group at Brunel University London in delivering the objectives of the Enhancement Project. The role will coordinate, monitor, and facilitate the project’s modelling and simulation activities, working closely with the academic lead. The postholder will organise project tasks, support the deployment of industrial thermal management solutions, plan practical investigations, and interpret technical outcomes to inform industrial decision‑making.

Relevant industrial experience is compulsory, requiring confident engagement with real‑world engineering environments and industry‑focused project delivery.

Department: College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences / Department of Engineering
Location: Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus
Salary: Grade 7 from £40,757 to £44,179 per annum inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £47,921 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution (Pro‑rata for Part‑time)
Hours: Part‑time at 17.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed‑term for 24 months

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, monitor and facilitate the project’s modelling and simulation activities.
  • Ensure effective organisation of project tasks and manage simulation work packages.
  • Support the deployment of industrial thermal management solutions.
  • Assist with planning and execution of practical investigations.
  • Interpret technical outcomes to inform industrial decision‑making.
  • Prepare technical deliverables, research documentation and milestone reports for the European Commission.
  • Collaborate closely with internal academic teams and European partners to keep simulation work packages on schedule and integrated with the consortium’s objectives.
Qualifications
  • Compulsory relevant industrial experience in engineering or applied research.
  • Proven track record of project coordination within industrial settings.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience in computational science or engineering preferred.
