We are currently seeking an experienced M&E Engineer to join a well-established building services maintenance team to work across London and the South East. The role will involve working across High end Residential and Office Blocks carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a wide range of mechanical and electrical building systems.
This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone confident working independently in plant rooms and building services environments.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair faults on HVAC and building services equipment
- Service and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
- Work on heating systems, including control interfaces and heating circuits
- Attend reactive breakdowns and restore systems to full working order
- Inspect, test, and maintain ventilation and cooling systems
- Work with pumps, valves, and associated mechanical plant
- Basic fault finding on electrical systems linked to HVAC equipment
- Complete service reports and job documentation accurately
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures on all sites
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
- Heating systems and interfaces
- Ventilation systems
- Chilled water / cooling systems
- Mechanical plant room equipment
- Basic Building Management Systems (BMS) awareness (desirable)
- Proven experience in M&E, HVAC, or building services maintenance
- Strong background in mechanical systems (electrical knowledge beneficial)
- Ability to work independently on site
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Full UK driving licence - Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.) preferred
- Experience with office and residential building maintenance contracts
- Exposure to HIUs (Heating Interface Units)
- Knowledge of pressurisation units and pumps
- Previous mobile engineer or multi-site maintenance experience
