Join Tetra Tech as a Geo-environmental Consultant to be involved in the delivery of technically complex projects helping clients solve ground engineering and land quality challenges whilst developing your own technical skills.
Purpose & Scope of the RoleJoin a growing Geo-Environmental Team of around 100 specialists across 10 offices in the UK and Ireland, delivering consultancy and in-house ground investigation services across Energy, Water, Defence, Nuclear and Property. This Geo-Environmental Consultant role focuses on contaminated land, site investigation and brownfield redevelopment, supporting projects across sectors including property and regeneration, defence estates and transport. YourImpact in this position
You will help shape and deliver geo-environmental investigations from desk study through to interpretation and reporting. Working across site and office locations, you will support the design, procurement, supervision and management of ground investigations, undertake desktop assessments, collect and interpret site data, produce clear technical reports, and carry out groundwater and ground gas monitoring and assessment. Your contribution will directly support sustainable development, risk management and environmental improvement on a wide range of complex sites.
TechnicalKnowledge
You will bring strong geo-environmental knowledge, with experience in contaminated land investigation and assessment, and current standards and guidance. Experience in environmental due diligence would also be an advantage.
Confidence in managing and supervising ground investigation works on site is essential, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring, with a strong focus on quality and delivery.
Data Analysis & ReportingYou will be comfortable collecting, analysing and interpreting site data, and producing Phase 1 geo-environmental desk studies, preliminary risk assessments and Phase 2 interpretative reports.
This role needs clear verbal and written communication, strong presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and contractors.
Initiative & ProfessionalismYou will be self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently while maintaining high standards in health, safety and environmental management.
Training, Qualifications & ExperienceYou should have experience in a similar role and a degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or a related subject. A full manual driving licence is required. Site accreditations such as SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS or First Aid would be beneficial.
This role is expected to be around 60% site based and 40% office based, depending on workload. Site work is typically around London and the South East, with occasional travel further afield in the UK and internationally.
