About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Coastal Modeller to join our growing Numerical Modelling team within our Maritime team in the UK.

In this role, you’ll work on a wide range of coastal and maritime projects, supporting the design and development of infrastructure such as breakwaters, seawalls, revetments, and marine outfalls. You’ll also play a key role in understanding coastal processes and supporting environmental consenting.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, enjoys working collaboratively, and is passionate about applying digital and modelling solutions in a real-world context.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading and delivering numerical modelling studies across coastal and maritime projects
  • Collecting, analysing and processing data to inform model development
  • Carrying out hydrodynamic, wave, sediment transport, water quality and CFD modelling
  • Preparing high-quality technical reports and presenting findings clearly to clients and colleagues
  • Supporting project delivery by working to a programme and a budget
  • Mentoring and supporting junior colleagues in their development
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, including the use of digital tools and best practice within the team
What we’re looking for

We’re interested in hearing from people who bring strong technical expertise alongside a collaborative and positive approach.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Demonstrable experience in coastal numerical modelling
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • A relevant degree (or equivalent experience) in coastal engineering, oceanography, hydrodynamics, environmental modelling or similar
  • The ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset
It would be great if you also have
  • Experience with model setup, calibration and validation
  • Knowledge of coastal processes, sediment transport, CFD or water quality modelling
  • Experience using GIS tools
  • Programming skills (e.g. Python)
  • A postgraduate qualification (MSc/PhD) in a relevant subject
