Introduction

We provide fire engineering, façade consultancy, building surveying, cost consultancy and project management services across multiple sectors, and we are one of the leading firms dealing with low, medium and high-risk buildings in the residential, mixed-use, university and student accommodation sectors.

Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of façade remediation, fire safety and compliance projects, we are seeking an experienced Senior Façade Consultant to join our highly skilled façade consultancy team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the UK's most complex façade remediation, cladding replacement and building safety projects, whilst collaborating with our in-house façade consultants, fire engineers, project managers, cost consultants and building surveyors.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Façade Consultancy and take a leading role in the delivery of façade consultancy services, particularly construction-stage quality assurance, technical compliance and cladding remediation projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Clerk of Works-style inspections on live façade and cladding remediation projects.
  • Monitor workmanship, materials and installation quality.
  • Assess compliance with design drawings, specifications, legislation and fire safety requirements.
  • Identify and report defects, non-compliances and deviations from design intent.
  • Produce high-quality inspection reports and project documentation.
  • Undertake technical audits, contractor reviews and due diligence exercises.
  • Review design, engineering and construction documentation.
  • Lead technical reviews and support resolution of project queries.
  • Undertake intrusive inspections and investigations where required.
  • Support BSR Gateway submissions and building safety compliance processes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.
  • Act as a key technical member within multidisciplinary project teams.
Location

London office with travel across London, the South East and wider UK project locations.

The Successful Candidate
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience within façade consultancy, engineering or construction.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience undertaking façade inspections, quality assurance or Clerk of Works duties.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (RICS, CABE, CIBSE, IFE, SFE or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of façade systems, fire safety and building design.
  • Experience of cladding remediation and higher-risk buildings.
  • Understanding of PAS 9980, Building Safety Act, Building Regulations and related legislation.
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation, RFIs, tender submissions and contractor proposals.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical decision-making.
