Salary: up to £36,993.56 DOE
Hours:
Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm (37.5 hours)
Contract:
Fulltime, Permanent

About our opportunityWe’re looking for a Mechanical Multi Skilled Fitter to join our Refining maintenance team at Fal Valley Refinery. The role is a hands‑on position within a fixed plant industrial environment, delivering planned, preventive and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines. You’ll work closely with engineering, maintenance and operations colleagues to support equipment reliability, installations and process improvements, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance.
What you’ll be doing- Maintenance & fault finding: carry out corrective, breakdown and preventive maintenance on fixed plant and associated systems (including pipework)
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults, with exposure to electrical and instrumentation systems
- Support equipment installations and process modifications
- Compliance & safety: work in line with Imerys Safe Working Rules, procedures and guidance; maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards; ensure safe, clean and hazard‑free work areas
- Team working & site support: provide engineering support across maintenance and operations activities; work comfortably in environments involving work at height and confined spaces; contribute positively to a collaborative, practical site culture
- Confident working hands‑on in industrial environments
- Ownership of safety and compliance
- Approach problems methodically and practically
- Reliable, resilient and open to feedback
- Enjoys being part of a close‑knit, collaborative team
- Essential:
Mechanical fitting experience in an industrial or process environment - NVQ Level 3 in Multiskilled Engineering (or willingness to work towards this)
- Knowledge of pumping and processing systems
- Strong health, safety and environmental awareness
- Legal UK driving licence
- Desirable:
Electrical and/or instrumentation competency - Industrial, mining, refining or heavy manufacturing experience
- Welding experience (MMA / MIG; TIG advantageous)
