About the Role
The UK water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. As Egis accelerates the growth of its Water Business in the UK, we are building a high-performing EICA Engineering team to help shape this next chapter.
We are inviting applicants who want to play a meaningful role in delivering major water and wastewater programmes. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to technically robust, sustainable and innovative treatment solutions across nationally significant projects.
This is a rare opportunity to join at a key stage of our UK growth journey, helping to establish, shape and expand an EICA engineering capability built on Egis’ global infrastructure expertise and long-term commitment to the sector.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to discipline design packages across feasibility, optioneering, concept, outline and detailed design for UK water/wastewater treatment projects.
- Prepare calculations, specifications, datasheets, schedules, technical notes, reports, drawings and model inputs under senior guidance.
- Support site visits, asset surveys, data reviews and discussions with operators, suppliers and technology providers.
- Work with Process, Mechanical, EICA and MEP interfaces to help develop integrated, practical and maintainable treatment solutions.
- Use digital tools, spreadsheets, models and data analysis methods to improve design quality and efficiency.
- Support CDM/safety-by-design activities and contribute to design risk identification.
- Assist with supplier/contractor reviews, technical queries, commissioning support and handover information where required.
- Work to agreed scope, budget and programme, escalating risks early and contributing to a collaborative technical team culture.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng/MEng or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Typically 4+ years’ relevant engineering design experience, ideally including water, wastewater, utilities, process, energy or infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of the treatment design lifecycle and ability to prepare clear discipline‑specific design deliverables.
- Working knowledge of relevant UK standards, CDM/safety‑by‑design principles and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and contribute to integrated design solutions.
- Good digital capability, including Excel and relevant design/modelling tools, with interest in automation, simulation and data‑led delivery.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to visit operational works and construction sites as required.
Desirable Skills / Knowledge
- Experience in municipal water, wastewater, sludge/bioresources, water reuse, nutrient removal, pumping, energy optimisation or low‑carbon treatment.
- Exposure to AMP8, WINEP, SROs, D&B, framework or alliance delivery environments.
- Experience with BIM/3D coordination, process simulation, hydraulic modelling, Power BI, Python, VBA or advanced Excel.
- Progress towards IEng or CEng with a relevant professional institution.
