A leading engineering client within the advanced sheet metal processing and automation sector is seeking an experienced Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, and breakdown response of high-value machinery across the UK.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected OEM-support environment working on some of the most advanced panel bending, laser, and automation systems in the industry.

The Role

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality technical support to customers, ensuring optimal machine performance and minimal downtime. The role will involve UK-wide travel with occasional overseas support when required.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, commissioning, and servicing of machinery
Fault finding and diagnostics on electrical and mechanical systems
Responding to breakdowns and providing technical support on-site
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Supporting machine upgrades and retrofit projects
Liaising directly with customers to provide technical guidance
Ensuring all service work is documented accurately and professionally
Working closely with engineering and technical support teams

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with engineers who have:

Strong multi-skilled (electrical and mechanical) service experience
Background in CNC machinery, sheet metal equipment, or capital equipment
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience working in a field-based service role
Good understanding of automation, PLCs, hydraulics, or pneumatics (advantageous)
Ability to work independently and manage a national travel schedule
Strong customer-facing and communication skills
A proactive and problem-solving mindset
