Technical Operations Lead

Rivan Industries - Vertically integrated synthetic fuel company

Location:

London, UK

Salary: £70k – £90k + Equity

Job Description

Join the team decarbonising non-electrifiable industries by making synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels. You will own the integration between engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions, driving elite execution as Rivan scales its modular plants 1000x. This is a high‑intensity role for a leader ready to help "mine the sky" for carbon.

Why this role is remarkable
  • Work at the forefront of climate tech with the first company in history having a clear line of sight to producing synthetic fuels cheaper than fossil equivalents.
  • Receive significant early-team share options and unique perks, including a £6,000 annual subsidy to live close to the Bermondsey HQ to minimize your commute.
  • Join a mission‑driven culture that recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and is backed by a roadmap to achieve massive global industrial impact.
What You Will Do
  • Optimize factory layouts and assembly flows to maximize production velocity, quality, and repeatability for modular fuel plant components.
  • Lead technical due diligence for project finance to secure the capital required for 1000x scaling over the next two years.
  • Manage complex engineering builds and specify industrial equipment while coordinating with third‑party contractors for successful site deployments.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (or a related field) with at least 5 years of professional experience in technical environments.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of executing complex hardware or infrastructure projects with the "scar tissue" needed for fast‑paced startup execution.
  • Possesses an innate curiosity for technical problem‑solving, often evidenced by interesting engineering side projects or deep experience in fuels and chemicals.
