Job Introduction

Sodexo is looking for an experienced Technical Services Manager to lead the delivery of technical services across a complex, high-profile corporate environment at Shell Centre, London.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can combine engineering expertise, client relationship management and strategic thinking. You will be part of Sodexo’s onsite team, working closely with client stakeholders, project teams, supply chain partners and internal technical specialists to ensure safe, compliant, cost-effective and forward-thinking technical service delivery.

This is not a purely operational engineering role. We are looking for someone who can influence at senior level, shape technical strategy, drive continuous improvement and lead the evolution of engineering services in a demanding, complex environment.

As a Technical Services Manager you'll:
  • Lead the delivery of hard services, engineering maintenance and technical compliance across the site
  • Manage and develop the onsite technical team, including capability, competence and performance
  • Provide technical leadership across planned, reactive and project-related activity
  • Act as a key point of contact for client stakeholders, building strong and trusted relationships
  • Work closely with project managers, subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure work is delivered safely and with minimal business disruption
  • Drive statutory compliance, audit readiness and adherence to technical policies, processes and procedures
  • Develop and improve maintenance strategies using data, asset information and engineering insight
  • Support asset management, lifecycle planning, reliability improvements and capital planning discussions
  • Lead continuous improvement, standardisation and optimisation across technical services
  • Champion a collaborative “one team” culture across Sodexo, the client and delivery partners
  • Support innovation and the use of digital tools, analytics and emerging technologies to improve engineering decision-making
What we're looking for:

We are looking for a senior technical leader with experience in a complex, high-profile or critical environment. You will be confident working with senior stakeholders and able to balance operational delivery with strategic planning.

You will bring:

  • A professional engineering background, ideally with a recognised engineering qualification
  • Strong experience in technical services, hard FM, building services or engineering operations
  • Experience working in complex environments where compliance, safety and business continuity are critical
  • Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, engineering governance and technical risk management
  • Proven leadership experience, including managing technical teams and subcontractors
  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with project teams and managing technical interfaces
  • Commercial awareness, including budget control, contract delivery, KPIs and SLAs
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to improve maintenance, asset and service delivery models
  • Strong communication, influencing and facilitation skills
  • Confidence in leading change, embedding standards and driving continuous improvement

  • Energy, oil and gas, utilities or major infrastructure
  • Corporate headquarters or blue‑chip client sites
  • Critical environments, data centres or high‑risk operational estates
  • Banking, pharmaceutical, healthcare, laboratory or regulated environments
  • Large outsourced FM contracts with complex stakeholder relationships
