Role

As a Pump Engineer at Vital Energi Ltd, you'll play a key role in delivering sustainable energy solutions by ensuring the reliability and efficiency of pump systems across a range of innovative projects. This is a hands‑on role that requires strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and the ability to work both without supervision and as part of a team.

You'll be joining a business that is committed to driving the UK’s transition to low‑carbon energy and making a real impact on the future of energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair various pump systems including centrifugal, booster, and submersible pumps used in heating, cooling, and energy systems.
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical pump systems, identifying and resolving issues to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
  • Work from technical drawings, specifications, and schematics to ensure precise installation and alignment of pump units and associated pipework.
  • Collaborate with project and design teams to support the commissioning of new energy systems and infrastructure projects across commercial and industrial sites.
  • Conduct routine service inspections and preventative maintenance in line with company schedules and health & safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation for compliance and quality assurance, reporting any operational risks or system inefficiencies.
Qualifications
  • Hold a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with mechanical seals, bearings and pressurisation units.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Unrestricted and ongoing right to work in the UK for the duration of employment, without the need for sponsorship.

Due to the nature of this role, we are unable to support visa sponsorship or employ individuals with time‑limited permission or conditions attached to their right to work in the UK.

Package
  • Contributory Company Pension Scheme
  • Non‑contributory death‑in‑service insurance
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • 25 Days Holiday plus 8 days bank holidays. Additional holidays awarded in line with length of service.
  • Option to purchase/sell additional holidays
  • Onsite gym/wellbeing centre at our Blackburn Head Office
  • Discounted gym membership across the UK
  • EV charging points where possible

We are a major provider of renewable energy infrastructure and systems to the public and private sectors.
