Our client is an ambitious authority who are seeking an experienced Principal Traffic Engineer to join them on a contract basis, initially for 5 months.

Key Responsibilities:

· Responsible for leading the technical team in the planning, investigation and delivery of traffic and parking engineering measures and schemes.

· The post holder will be responsible for budget, contract and project management, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

· The post holder will support the Transport and Projects Manager in organising technical staff and administering the service, while representing the service and deputising for the Manager when necessary.

· Oversee the identification, appraisal, and design of traffic and parking schemes

· Prepare committee reports, technical reports, briefing notes and correspondence and present at committees, meetings and to the public when required.

· To keep abreast of relevant legislative, technical and professional developments to enhance the effectiveness of services provided

· Provide expert advice, guidance and up to date information on relevant aspects of service provision to internal and external stakeholders

What is required?

· As the successful candidate, you will have extensive experience in traffic engineering

· Proven ability to manager budgets, contracts and complex projects

· Experience leading technical teams

· You will have great stakeholder management skills.
