We are seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Loads Engineer to support the design and optimisation of offshore wind turbine foundations. The role focuses on the assessment, generation, and interpretation of wind turbine generator (WTG) loads to inform foundation design decisions across all project phases, from concept development through to detailed design and verification.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Integrated Load Analyses (ILAs), evaluating turbine–foundation interaction effects, and providing robust load inputs for foundation design. Working closely with foundation specialists, the role will ensure that foundation systems are developed using technically sound and representative loading conditions while supporting innovation in analysis methods, tools, and engineering processes.
Who are we looking for:We are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in offshore structures, wind turbines, or marine systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, great interpersonal skills and want to be part of an organisation that is striving to achieve the goal of being the world’s leading offshore renewable energy team.
You will be familiar with aero-elastic loads calculation software used in the offshore wind industry, ideally the Bladed suite, and be open-minded to experience new software that is designed by our in-house Software Engineering Team.
A familiarity with offshore wind foundation design is essential, especially in relation to interfaces between wind turbine loads and primary steel design.
You will be able to develop relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and challenge the status quo whilst also being proactive in the educating others on health and safety. You will have confidence in managing your own scope of work and budgets and mentor and train junior members of the SLPE team.
What we offer:Want to join the best place to work in renewable energy?
This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside some of the top engineers in the industry as part of a collaborative team that values innovation and excellence. You will have the chance to further develop your offshore wind expertise while enhancing your leadership, management, and technical skills in a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
At SLPE, we foster a friendly and flexible culture, consistently pushing the boundaries of offshore wind design.
The position allows you to shape your responsibilities based on your interests and career goals. With the right support and mentoring, you will have the opportunity to develop your career into Senior Engineer or Specialist Engineer including management of others. We foster a culture of continuous learning and personal development.
SLPE delivers world-class projects through cutting-edge design processes, and we take pride in making the journey both challenging and enjoyable. If you are motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, this role could be the perfect fit for you.
The role offers a competitive salary range from £48,500 to £59,300 per annum, dependent on experience.
