• Undertake site inspections of contractor work areas, reporting environmental issues and providing clear observations.
• Provide written and verbal guidance on environmental legislation, permits, and relevant planning constraints.
• Review contractors' environmental management plans and risk assessments to ensure compliance with regulations and project standards.
• Support self‑assessments and internal audits of site activities, ensuring alignment with legislation, project processes, and environmental best practice.
• Lead or support investigations into environmental incidents, preparing reports and recommending measures to prevent recurrence.
• Identify potential contractual issues and escalates appropriately to the Environmental & Sustainability Manager.

• Degree (or equivalent) in an environmental or related discipline.
• Experience working within an Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned to recognised standards (e.g., ISO 14001).

• Proven experience in an environmental management role on a dynamic construction or industrial site.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK environmental legislation relevant to construction or industrial operations, plus associated guidance and industry best practice.
• Understanding of client‑contractor relationships and responsibilities under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
