Commissioning Engineer – London What you will be doing

  • Responsible for the commissioning delivery of the assigned project.
  • Ensure a full appreciation of the MEICA requirements of the project, including a thorough understanding of commissioning requirements and interfaces with existing equipment and processes.
  • Develop the Project Commissioning Plan, Commissioning Strategy and associated documentation in a timely manner, ensuring they meet the project scope, deliverables, interfaces and constraints.
  • Provide an outline commissioning strategy at the design stage and evolve it into a detailed commissioning plan at the end of design leading into project award.
  • Monitor the delivery of commissioning documentation in line with project delivery requirements and provide regular MEICA & commissioning status reports.
  • Work with the client Asset Operations Team to ensure full integration of existing assets.
  • Guarantee that all MEICA installation work meets the technical requirements of the project, including client specifications, Asset Standards and, where applicable, WIMES.
  • Adhere to the latest Galliford Try MEICA & commissioning processes and procedures.
  • Organise and manage supervision of testing and commissioning.
  • Engage with specialist support functions (DSEAR, Technical Authors, Document Controllers) to ensure early engagement and a clear understanding of project needs and deliverables, including timescales.
  • Ensure that the training plan content is delivered in accordance with the programme requirements for the project, coordinating with suppliers/subcontractors where specialist training is necessary.
  • Engage with the client Asset Integrator to ensure that the project takeover deliverables list is fully agreed and understood, and assist with MEICA & commissioning deliverables associated with completion.
  • Coordinate MEICA & commissioning activities with Galliford Try / subcontract resources to ensure that project‑specific requirements and programme are met.
About You
  • Strong experience in the water industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage site delivery of MEICA / commissioning, including regular client interface and prompt issue resolution.
  • Successful track record of MEICA & commissioning delivery to project takeover.
  • Effective approach to meeting project timelines and takeover objectives.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications for report creation and presentation.
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental practices.
  • Understanding of water industry processes and mechanical/electrical equipment used in the water sector.
  • CSCS or ECS card in an appropriate discipline.
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
  • SMSTS (preferred) with SSSTS (minimum).
  • First Aid at Work (preferred).
  • Knowledge of BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations – 18th Edition.
