Job Overview
WSP is looking for Civil Engineering graduates for our Local Government, Roads, and Bridges teams. Graduates will work in a collaborative environment, learning from experienced engineers while contributing to real projects across the UK and Ireland.
Local Government, Highways (Norfolk)WSP partners with Norfolk County Council on highway and infrastructure projects. Graduates will support design work, site assessments, and technical reporting.
- Assist in planning and drafting highway improvement and maintenance schemes
- Participate in on‑site inspections and evaluations to inform design decisions
- Prepare supporting documentation for engineering decisions, compliance, and project tracking
As a graduate in the Bridges team, you will be involved in inspection, assessment, design, strengthening, repair, asset management, and project management.
- Conduct bridge inspections using specialized equipment such as pontoons, gantries, and elevated platforms
- Organise site visits and perform structural design and assessment
- Manage asset data and design structural repairs
- Perform structural bridge assessment calculations
- Supervise contractors and contribute to project management
- Assist with business development and tendering
The Roads Design team focuses on national transportation schemes, active‑travel projects, public transport, and rail interface work. Graduates develop design skills on a variety of projects.
- Design and draft transport solutions
- Conduct site visits and inspections
- Analyse data and compile reports
- Coordinate projects and liaise with stakeholders
- Support learning and development initiatives
- Ensure health and safety compliance
This two‑year programme supports personal and professional growth through blended learning, workshops, mentoring, and professional registration support. Graduates will progress from junior design roles to senior engineering positions and are encouraged to pursue chartered status with ICE or IStruct

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (minimum 2:2). Master’s required for Bridges roles.
