Engineer - Electrification and Power

This role can be based at any of our office locations:
London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, York, Glasgow. At ORR we have adopted hybrid working and are currently expected to work from a workplace location for a minimum of two days per week or 40%.

The team of Power, Signalling and Telecommunication Systems comprises discipline engineering experts for Electrical Power, Telecoms and Railway Signalling. We support our Operations, Economic and Safety colleagues to ensure a safe, sustainable and reliable railway.

Reporting to the Principal, Electrification and Power engineer, the role is primarily dealing with holding infrastructure managers (IM’s) such as Network Rail and High Speed 1 to account for the asset management of Electrical & Power systems. The role provides opportunities to work with the industry to help shape the progression of Electrical & Power systems to a more sustainable future and a reliable railway.

The job holder will be working with other ORR departments to provide subject matter opinion during investigations and Funding periodic reviews and be a key part of the Infrastructure Authorisation process.
