Principal Electronic Design Engineer in West End

Overview

Principal Electronic Design technical lead required to take ownership of the company s electronic engineering efforts. You will report directly to the CTO and be the sole internal hardware resource.

• Own and drive the company s electronic engineering efforts, providing technical leadership across hardware development.
• Lead design activities using Altium for schematic capture, layout, and BOM development.
• Support automotive-grade power supply design, testing, compliance, and meeting technical requirements.
• Apply hands-on electronics skills including debugging, oscilloscope usage, soldering, and electronics test-house processes.
• Ensure radio compliance, EMC, cellular capabilities, and related regulatory requirements are addressed.
• Develop and validate data acquisition devices deployed internationally on heavy vehicles and across construction supply chains; generate valuable time-series data for cloud processing and machine learning pipelines to improve quality and efficiency.
• Address devices that include cellular, BLE, GPS, and CAN technologies in ongoing and future deployments.
• Lead research projects with custom designs, oversee compliance testing, and coordinate production with contracted manufacturers.
• Operate in a hybrid work environment with at least 2 days per week in the office.

• Strong degree in Electronics.
• Automotive industry experience across power supply design, testing, compliance, and technical requirements.
• Proficiency with Altium for schematic, layout, and BOM development.
• Experience with electronics test-house processes, debugging, oscilloscope, and hands-on soldering skills.
• Knowledge of radio compliance, EMC, and cellular technologies.
