I'm currently working with a well-established Building Services and Fire Engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected consultancy delivering technically challenging projects across the residential, commercial, healthcare, heritage and high-rise sectors. You'll play a key role in leading mechanical design projects working closely with clients to deliver innovative, sustainable engineering solutions.
The RoleAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ownership of mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion, leading the design and coordination of HVAC, public health and associated mechanical systems. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, oversee project delivery and help drive technical excellence across a varied project portfolio.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects.
- Design HVAC, public health and associated mechanical systems.
- Carry out feasibility studies and develop engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and wider design teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Monitor project programmes, budgets and technical quality.
- Attend client meetings and contribute to bids and tender submissions.
- Ensure compliance with current UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Promote sustainable and energy-efficient design throughout projects.
- Support business development through strong client relationships.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Proven experience within a Building Services Consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, public health and mechanical building systems.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit and IES (or similar design software).
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and sustainability standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers.
