What You'll Be Doing

As an Arboricultural Consultant, you will contribute to the delivery of arboricultural services across a broad range of projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and undertaking BS5837 surveys, tree condition assessments and supporting desk-based studies.
  • Producing clear, concise and well-structured technical reports, including Tree Survey Reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA) and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMS).
  • Supporting senior colleagues in delivering arboricultural inputs to Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs).
  • Providing construction-stage arboricultural advice and support.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams, GIS and CAD specialists, clients and key stakeholders.
  • Managing and coordinating project information efficiently and accurately.
  • Identifying project risks, environmental constraints, programme challenges and opportunities for improved delivery.
  • Contributing to a positive client experience through high-quality technical work and professional communication.
What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Experience with in arboricultural consultancy, local authority tree officer roles or a similar arboricultural environment.
  • Level 3 qualification in Arboriculture or higher.
  • Sound working knowledge of BS5837:2012, tree protection principles, and the UK planning system and development process.
  • Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple projects.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and safe site-working practices.

Desirable

  • Level 4 qualification, degree or related diploma.
  • Professional membership status such as Tech ArborA, MArborA, MICFor, or working towards chartered/professional accreditation.
  • Experience using CAD, GIS and digital data capture tools.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary development and infrastructure projects.
  • Tree Risk Assessment qualifications, Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) certification, Arboricultural Clerk of Works experience, or construction site experience.
