OverviewMint Neuro is a deep-tech startup at the intersection of neurotechnology and semiconductors, developing integrated circuits that interface directly with the human nervous system. We design ultra-low-power, high-performance silicon for implantable devices, pushing the limits of what is possible in constrained biological environments to enable next-generation therapies for neurological conditions.
RoleAs a Senior Analogue/Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer, you will design ultra-low-power ICs at the limits of noise, energy efficiency, and system integration. You will take designs from architecture through to silicon validation within a small, highly skilled team, owning key subsystems and contributing to multiple tape‑outs.
Duties and responsibilities- Design mixed‑signal ICs for neural interfaces, from architecture to silicon validation
- Develop and verify analogue/mixed‑signal blocks (e.g. front‑ends, references, data converters)
- Contribute to full‑chip integration, tapeout, and post‑silicon characterisation
- Optimise system performance across power, noise, and area trade‑offs
- Explore and implement novel circuit techniques for implantable systems
- MSc/PhD in Electronic Engineering or related field, with ~5+ years relevant experience
- Strong experience in low‑power analogue or mixed‑signal IC design
- Proven track record from specification to tapeout and silicon validation
- Solid understanding of noise, mismatch, and power‑performance trade‑offs
- Experience with standard IC design tools (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso)
- Experience with mixed‑signal simulation (e.g. Verilog‑A/AMS)
- Experience with ultra‑low‑power or biomedical circuits
- Knowledge of power management or full‑chip integration
- A small, high‑performance team with direct ownership and rapid access to silicon
- Work on ICs that interface directly with the human nervous system
- Ownership of subsystems and tapeouts, with a path to technical leadership
- Flexible hybrid working with access to London‑based labs
- Competitive compensation and equity participation
We value diverse perspectives and encourage applications from candidates with non‑traditional backgrounds or experience that does not fully match every requirement.
